This might sound really stupid, but if we’re getting all new carpets can I pay someone to move the furniture about?

We have huge, heavy wardrobes that will need moving in two bedrooms.

I can’t expect the carpet fitters to do it, no way I can, and DH has a bad back and he’ll injure himself - I was thinking of seeing if I could pay removals people to come and do it? Is that a silly idea, what do other people do?

The company fitting our carpets charged us an extra £150 to allow for an extra person to come and help move the furniture at the start and again when finished. We left them to it and it was all handled perfectly. Worth asking

Oh that’s really good to know, thank you - I wasn’t sure if it was something they’d do, or if they’d think I was a cheeky cow!
