Hi everyone. We are decorating our home at last (5 years after moving in). We want to decorate our kitchen/diner the same colour that’s in the walls already but having a terrible time finding the colour.

We have managed to take a huge chunk of paint chipping to our local DIY store and have spent hours trying to match it with their paint samples there (the owner has helped too). It always looks perfect but when we get the sample home and try it on the wall, it’s nothing like it. We’ve tried the paint they have like farrow & ball and Benjamin Moore.

I’ve read about Valspar at B&Q but it gets mixed reviews. Anyone used it recently? Good or bad experiences?

Dulex have a paint sample service, or you can use their website to find a paint color. Farrow and Ball sell paint, look them up on Facebook or call or email.

We're part way through decorating using Valspar paint colour matched to a Little Greene paint colour. Ii is a really good match and happy with the paint quality too

Victory Colours do a colour matching service. All their paint is low VOC and eco friendly. Most of my house is painted with it and it brushes on like a creamy dream!

We’ve had valspar from b&q within the last few months, matched to a sample card from dulux, and also kat he’s to a current farrow and ball paint colour. Excellent matches each time, we were really pleased. We had the valspar v700 which I think is the most durable option. It went on great and had worn well so far (only a few months in but v well used arears). We’ve used it on plastered walls and on anaglypta and it’s been equally good on both surfaces

We used the paint my matching thing at Homebase recently for some touch-ups. It was absolutely perfect!

Thanks everyone! We used Valspar and it’s pretty much spot on! Smile

I have also used Vaspar from B&Q and found the match is perfect , but I am not mad keep on the quality of the paint , as you are painting and it starts to dry it pulls of again quite easy if you go back over a bit that has just started to dry , but this is only on wood work , on plaster and wall paper its fine

Paintsquared.co.uk? Loads of options here, plus the samples are peel and stick so you can move the samples to different areas of light to avoid the issue you seem to be having

Johnstone's decorating centres do colour matching. I got some Little Green matched from there. Good quality.
