Hi! I'm after a nice cream paint with a tinge of brown/taupe in it. Any ideas?

Dulex sell a number of paints in different colors, check their website. Or you can use Farrow and Ball.

Farrow and ball “drop cloth” or it’s colour matched equivalent. I’ve got it in my front room

Buy testers, put on wall , see which is best There is literally no better way of doing it. What one person likes another won't and the light in the room makes all the difference to the colour.

I know the ranges. I just wanted people's recommendations as I can't seem to find one I like at the moment so wanted to see what other people like.

Looking at it now, it may be darker than you want. However, I really like it!

Definitely get test samples to compare.

Farrow and Ball Stony Ground or Skimming Stone

Dulux Natural Hessian, Egyptian Cotton or Nutmeg White

Valspar Oatbran or Soft stones

Benjamin Moore Aura Lace Handkerchief

Given that you can have any colour mixed to order, the world is your oyster, why not pick up shade cards from a dulux decorator centre.

If you just want to pick up a premixed colour, cream with brown/taupe sounds like a very light beige/warm white to me, given cream is white with brown already.

Skimming Stone
Edgecomb Gray

Have a look in the Colorography Lab at The Land of Color for loads more. And you can compare them in detail by their colour attributes.

Farrow and ball Joas white or dulux barley white.

Bluesheep8 · 18/06/2021 09:22

Skimming Stone op! Honestly, this is The One

We had stone iv from Paint and Paper library in our old sitting room and loved it. It ranges from i to v so you can go darker or lighter. Very easy to live with, similar to stony ground from f&b.
