Rug for sitting room

I’m looking for a rug to go with curtains that I’m planning to buy in William Morris Blackthorn green fabric, as shown in the link below - the pattern is larger than it looks there. I love oriental type rugs and was considering one in grey and cream (sofa is dark grey) but think that maybe it would look too busy, as the window is very big so there will be a lot of curtain?

Possible rug, although I’m not sure whether I like the worn effect or if it’s too modern. I actually prefer more defined patterns but this could look less busy:

The other option would be a plain grey rug.

I think that the rug linked to is maybe too patterned?

I like both things individually, but I don't think they go.
I feel like the grey tone is too 'cool' to go with the fabric - perhaps look for something more beige in colour?
I love the vintage antique rug styles, so I'd keep looking.
