We've got a freshly painted hall and stairs - its creamy coloured (summer linen) and all the paintwork is white. The hall floor is dark wood, and the stair carpet is brown, but we'll eventually change that.

I want to get new lampshades for the ceiling lights - I quite like these from Dunelm but I'm not sure whether they'll be too light with the light walls and paintwork?

I have lots of photos I'd like to put up but not sure what kind of frames. Would white frames be too light on pale walls?

Also some kind of table to put keys, etc on. Maybe plants?

I don't want it to be too cluttered, but at the minute it is very bare and echoey so it needs something.

I like the idea of lots of white framed photos in different sizes on a pale wall - that would look good. It then depends how wide the hall is what sort of furniture you have there. I'd love a painted monk's bench myself, for the storage of shoes etc out of sight.

Thank you - I might try a couple of photos in white frames and see how they look. Some are school photos where the DCs are on white background so I worried it would be too white and they'd look as though they're floating!

I'm wondering whether to go for the white light shades too and then add colour with plants and other accessories.
