Does anyone have them?

I’m thinking of doing one above dining table but not sure if art or photos would work better or even if it’s worth doing or seen as a bit naff now?

Any ideas/pics/opinions welcome.

I did in our previous house because it was tiny and I had lots of pictures I loved. Might be naff now but once we’ve sorted renovations and can decorate I’ll be doing it again because I love having artwork on the walls and I’ve got a habit of buying small pieces that would look lost on their own.

I think if you’re buying stuff for the sake of making a gallery wall that’ll be harder (how do you find the images? Do you need a theme?), but if you just accumulate artwork you love and then arrange it in a way that works it’s fun and rewarding.

I have a Polaroid gallery going up my stairs.
I love it.

I had a photo canvas made with my fave photos from places I've visited. It's about A3. It wasn't expensive and not too dominating in a small flat.

There's a mix of nature e.g. flower close up, trees in snow, and a couple of lovely buildings. Some square, some landscape.

People seem to like it and those photos look better that way than in frames.

I think I’ll go ahead, good to know I’m not the only one who likes them.

I have loads of art in storage and loads of meaningful pics.

Good to see your wall @ArcherDog I would love to do a gallery wall on the staircases too.

I had one in our old lounge, set against a bright blue wall. I thought it looked cool. We had a mix of art and some photos.

Tried to post a pic but wouldn’t work - think no 11 in this link but I like quite a few of these. I prefer a bit higgledy piggeldy and not too symmetrical.

We used to have a photo wall in our kitchen / diner , it was all A4 laminated photos of our children at various Disneyland’s from when they were very small . It was lovely when they were little .

@Brazilianut if you’ve got loads of art you love it’ll be great - I think the trendy ones were often a perfectly curated collection of tastefully desaturated photos in matching frames, whereas a hotch-potch of beauty/meaning according to a house’s inhabitants is genuine and interesting regardless of trends. I think so, anyway.
