How to paint the area above the stairs?

I’m on a tight budget so can’t buy new ladders etc. I was wondering how others have managed to paint the really high area above the stairs and make the edges neat.

In the past I’ve used a pole and roller but the corners and edging was untidy, I’m wondering if anyone has found a way to make this section easier. It’s an enclosed staircase so the landing gives a little access to the area.

I used an edging pad on an extender handle. It's not perfect but better than just using a roller. But I would actually recommend matching the ceiling to the walls so no need to try and get a neat line

Pad like this you need to practice a bit, some decent videos on you tube.

Thank you. I admit that I am debating whether to just paint everything white to make it easier!

Everything white. Extendable roller and then a small paintbrush sellotaped to the end of a pole to get in the corners...! That’s how we’ve just done ours.

Wouldn't have thought of the paintbrush idea, thanks :).
