White granite?

I wondered if anyone has any experience with white granite. We're planning grey kitchen units and I think that grey granite will be too 'matchy' and black granite will be too dark (although it's going to be a large and light room). Really interested to know how easy it is to maintain and whether it stains, or chips easily. Any other experiences of granite also appreciated as DH is tending towards laminate! I've seen a light quartz I love but I understand it's more expensive and also not heat resistant. Thanks in advance.

We have white quartz and I love it. Things like undiluted squash, red wine, and coffee will leave a stain if left to dry on it. But the stains can be easily removed with Bar Keepers Friend. The company who installed the quartz gave us a bottle and it is fabulous. I use it on everything now: the quartz, cleaning the sink, removes rust stains, scuffs on walls.

That's great, thank you

We’re going for quartz as it’s less porous than granite. A friend has a permanent coffee stain on her granite that she can’t get rid of.

Thanks Panda. I've been researching it and hopefully annual sealing should reduce stain risk
