White or light grey grout for these blush pink tiles?

We don’t really like the black colour of the range cooker but it was her when we moved in and keeping for now.

What would be a better contrast?

I’d go with white, but I can remember 1980’s pink-and-grey boilersuit being fashionable.

Thatswatshesaid · 18/05/2021 22:48

Light grey

They are darker than we thought and I’m still deciding if I like them!

Pastel coloured grout (blue or pale green) would also work nicely.

I love the pink and black and I'd stick with pink grout for the tiles - Topps Tiles do a high performance Matrix grout in blossom pink. Are you changing teh wall colour.

JaninaDuszejko · 19/05/2021 17:34

Pink grouting in this case I think. Assuming the blue wall units are staying.

cooperbug · 19/05/2021 20:33

@Tightwad2020 I think we will change the chimney breast wall colour yes.

Any suggestions?

I’d match it with tiles and keep pink.

Tightwad2020 · 19/05/2021 21:10

Ooh, well, I'm obsessed with pink and green right now. I think soft sagey/grey-green looks lovely with pink, but you can go stronger and clearer - more pistachio green. Depending on what else is in the room. Or go for another pink as Ladybigbeach says? - but I think I"d go for a more plaster type pink rather than the strong pink of the tiles.

cooperbug · 19/05/2021 21:18

@Tightwad2020 the units are duck egg blue. You can just about see the colour of them at the side of the pic.

I would love to go for green but just don’t think it will go. Oh dear have I made a mistake?!

No, of course not! I'm not particularly brave with colour, but no doubt you can put green, blue and pink together - they occur in nature, why not in your kitchen? It's just a question of finding the right shade/colour saturation. Or take a pink over the chimney breast, if you don't want to introduce another colour. I like the dusty, plaster sort of pinks - Stony Plaster (Atelier Ellis), China Clay (Little Greene), Bell Pink (Atelier Ellis) if you want something more decidedly pink. Dulux Blush is nice, more flowery, if you know what I mean. The kitchen units look great, it looks like a cracking kitchen. Mine is a boring white, and I won't be changing it for a good five years, so I'm trying to get my colour fix elsewhere in the house.

Tightwad2020 · 19/05/2021 22:02

Or continue the blue. But maybe let the units stand out in their duck-eggy glory, and have the tiles a more intense focus of pink against a softer pink on the chimney breast? Nice decision to have, OP.

goingtotown · 19/05/2021 22:05

Pink.

endofthelinefinally · 19/05/2021 22:13

Silver. It comes out like a very soft, subtle, pale grey colour. I don't think another bright/ contrasting colour would look nice.

cooperbug · 19/05/2021 22:15

@Tightwad2020 thanks so much for all of your advice. I will take a look at those colours

A darker grout would look lovely.

MadKittenWoman · 19/05/2021 22:46

Dark grey or white.

ceilingsand · 19/05/2021 22:53

White

Bluesheep8 · 20/05/2021 07:28

I was going to reluctantly say white, as I generally hate white grout on kitchen tiles (Just because it never stays white) but that pic a pp posted of grey looks lovely. I'd go for a pale silver grey grout rather than charcoal though.
