Ready made curtains - where to buy?

Other than places like The Range, where can you buy half decent ready made curtains these days? I just want some bedroom curtains, not full length, with blackout linings. The walls are a mid/sage green and we have teak furniture so I thought of something vaguely tropical or leafy plant themed. Looked at Dunelm - acres of hideous crushed velvet but nothing I really like. There is some made to measure I quite like but it will work out at nearly £300. Back in the day I would have said M&S or Debenhams or John Lewis but I'm not really seeing anything. Thanks.

Dunelm?

TeddyBeans · 16/05/2021 16:32

Sorry just saw you've checked there 🤦‍♀️ I'm surprised you didn't find anything you liked though

I got some made to measure eyelet curtains from 247 curtains for a wide (240cm) width window. Cost around £150 delivered, including thermal lining. Great choice of fabrics - you can order loads of free samples too. Was really pleased with the service.

B n m is great 😁

If you’re prepared to do your own lining and a bit of faffing, H&M, La Redoute, Zara Home, etc do good curtains with proper header tape that you can tweak to your liking. Bit more effort but fairly cheap and lots of options; Terry’s Fabric good for lining.

We got some from here recently. They were quick to arrive. I'd seen the ones I liked in Next but they didn't have the size so googled and found them here.

Thanks all I've ordered some samples from 247 curtains but still looks like working out at close to £300 for the size, I think Next used to be good but have gone downhill, I miss BHS for homeware! I am so bored of all the mustard/grey/teal eyelet curtains around.

Terry's Fabrics?

feliciabirthgiver · 17/05/2021 03:44

I just got mine from John Lewis

Dunelm have fabulous curtains. Good quality and great choice

DappledThings · 17/05/2021 09:38

Dunelm have 100s of styles. We've bought them for three rooms in the last few years. No crushed velvet in sight.

Definitely Dunelm - better to look online IMO and read the reviews. The curtains I've bought from there are superior to John Lewis
