How many walls?

When using colour on walls what are the current thoughts/trends on how many walls to put the colour on? All four? Or just one wall with a more neutral colour/tone or the other three?

It’s up to you. There are no rules. Feature walls are seen by some as a bit dated, others as really good. For me they are fine, but it needs to tonally flow if you use different colours in the one room.

I hate feature walls, they are so half hearted. Although as Bluntness says if they flow with the rest of the room they can sometimes work. I am scarred by our current house though, the previous owners had a 'feature wall' in every bloody room and while the sitting room was well balanced the bathroom was ridiculous, we have just painted all the walls and the ceiling in there the same colour and it looks a million times better. Best pot of paint I ever bought!

Also can you say what colour do you mean? Is it something really bright or dark?

I'm thinking of Tranquil Dawn for a bedroom so a fairly pale colour.

I’d put that on all four walls, I’d not classify it as colour as such.
