Sofas from Next

Can anyone tell me about their sofa from Next?
I've been searching everywhere for a modern looking comfortable sofa with a decent height back. I know low back sofas look beautiful but I want to be able to lean back and feel supported.
If you have a Next sofa does it look good after a couple of years? Is it still comfortable? Anything else I should know?

We have sofas from the michigan range in next, in a dark grey weave fabric. They are 6 years old now, the fabric is great, really hard wearing. The cushion foam we had replaced last year, cost us around £500 for the four (seat and back) as the sofas weren't as supportive as they had been, but they were 5 years old at that point. We had a choice of firmness in the new foam and as we're not getting any younger we went for foam that was a bit firmer than the original.

The sofas are great, really comfortable and wearing well, the only spot where they aren't quite as good as new is on the arms, where we lean on them the board or whatever it is underneath has given a bit so have a flat spot instead of a nice curve. All in all I love the sofas, have been really happy with them and as a result have bought some smaller occasional sofas and chairs from next but they're all only a couple of years old so too early to say how they will last but so far, am loving how comfortable they are and how good they look.

Ours are only a year old but comfy and looking good so far.

Had ours for three years, still look great, no obvious signs of wear and still very comfy.

Not me but a friend has some in a sort of checked fabric and they went bobbly instantly, she was very disappointing. I think the sofas themselves are decent but you need to think about how the fabric will wear.

Thanks for all the replies. I feel quite reassured, now.
@Lamentations I know which fabric you mean and I'll definitely look at the more hard-wearing fabrics.

I sat on the Stamford today at Next and I really like it. But I couldn't see the shape of it properly as it had about 42 cushions on it. But it looks nice online, too.

Also, I have to say, @CoxwellHuge, I didn't know you could replace the foam in sofas. How I've reached my age not knowing that, I have no idea!

@Neptunesgiraffe I think it's easier if they are separate cushions than built in obviously but we are so chuffed so be able to prolong the life of the sofas. We still really love the style and the fabric is really hard wearing and has lasted so well so we didn't want to spend out again.

I'll try to attach some photos but this was before we had the foam replaced, they were 5 years old at this point. I don't have any after photos with the new foam (which is actually almost a year old) but would definitely recommend the fabric.!

We’ve a 3 and a 2 seater Stamford in a cappuccino colour and they’re still great three years on 🥳

Have had my Next for 10 years and still in great condition. We only have one sofa in the house so imagine how well used it is!

Neptunesgiraffe · 16/05/2021 07:38

Thanks for the photos @CoxwellHuge. I like the style of your sofas, too, so I'll have a look for them in store.
@Cheermonger the Stamford has been my favourite sofa that I've actually seen in real life, so that's good to know! Thanks.

Thanks everyone, you've all helped a lot!
