What to do with future nursery

We are about to move into a 3 bed house, from a 1 bed flat
One of the double bedrooms will be a future nursery / child’s room, in about 2 years time hopefully

I’m not really sure what to do with it until then. It seems silly to decorate it and buy furniture to fill it, but also it seems ridiculous to leave it empty for 2 years.

What do people normally do?

I’d paint it in something neutral (Cornflower White by Dulux has a blue hue and works for a baby room boy or girl!).

We used this room in our house as a home office, sold the desk when baby came along 😊
