Currently the wall is a dark brown and the carpet is gold. We have painted all the woodwork - doors and bannister- white and it has brightened up the house. The walls are too dark but I don't want cream as thinking of the mess. Three kids, three cats, one dog. Dh thinks it needs to tone in with the lounge and kitchen and I'm happy to go along with that unless someone can suggest an epic colour. The walls will be painted and then the carpet will be laid so really I need ideas done both surfaces so they go together. I did consider a nice grey but I've seen a neighbours house for sale and every room is a shade of grey. Put me right off. TIA.
