Had painters in eighteen months ago whilst I was away, on the fireplace wall I had two biggish wall lamps from previous owners and my dh removed them for the painters to paint the wall and painters said they would put lamps back up when finished which they did.
So today the old lamps were removed to put up my lovely new ones which are now up and look lovely BUT the painters actually must of put the wall lamps back up and painted around the base as my grey wall now has terracotta paint showing all around the new smaller bases!!!😡
I'm fuming dh wanted to put the old lamps back up but I want my new lamps up, so I have a small tester pot of the new pale grey paint in washable Matt but the painters get the paint mixed and I think it's a sheen maybe not sure?
Dh telling me I'll have to paint the whole wall but is there any way to paint around the lamp base without it showing a colour difference iykwim?? Help!! Please!

Even if you got the exact same shade, after 18 months on the wall, there would still be a difference between the new painted area and the old. It would be odd for them to put back up and paint round them though, there isn’t paint stuck to the back of them is there? Just wondering if they put them back up when the paint was tacky?

@Youdontknowwhatyoureonabout hi no there's no paint on the back of the old lamp bases, they've definitely just painted around them unfortunately for me!
They were quite expensive as I had most of the house done at the time and they seemed a bit like they didn't want the job as it took them a good 5-6 days and they were run off their feet , a good thing I would of thought but I won't be using them again that's for sure!
So I might have to repaint the wall because colour might be different you're saying, I really didn't want to do that but if my tester pot doesn't work out I won't have a choice.
