Dado tiles or trim?

I wasn't sure whether to put this in property/DIY or here but anyway...

I'm putting new tiles into our downstairs WC, floor will be in herringbone and then I'm getting the walls tiled to dado height (1.2m - ish). I've priced dado tiles and they are eye wateringly expensive, they actually cost more than the floor tiles!! Would it look naff if I just used a regular trim? I'd obviously like it to look really well and the tiles I'm using are not cheap so I don't want to cheapen the look.

What would you do? What are people's opinions on trim? I've searched for the tiles online and the manufacturer shows them with dado and without but you can't actually see the trim in the photos iykwim.

I think the ones without the dado tiles look better

Yup dado tiles are ridiculous money

A chrome trim perhaps depending on the tile? Or even a painted timber one which has a shaped profile?

Timber...! Interesting suggestion. I've never seen this before.

I prefer without the dado, but for a downstairs loo, I'd just do a small tiled splashback at the sink and save most of the tile money
