Original wooden floors help

We have just brought an old 1950's home and it has a wooden hardwood floor in the hallway and dining room.
The kitchen floor, backslash, cupboards and worktop all need changing but I'm struggling to decide what colours would go with it.
I want it to be natural and light, with textures and to also feel quite original. I'm tempted towards terricotta floor tiles, or back splash as we have two big red brick log burners. Pics below.
Any idea at all welcome

Ooh, that looks like it’ll be a lovely dining (living?) room, and a great idea to have kitchen in keeping.

Terracotta floor tiles would work, or larger “flagstone” effect tiles, maybe granite or riven slate: some has veins of rusty reds and earthy tones through it which would tie it to the fireplace (anything really pale would look out of place but I’m absolutely no expert!). Some simple plain kitchen in a pale colour, maybe wooden worktop and either scary-chintzy accessories (towels, oven gloves, not too much), or all washed-out sage green touches,, and lineny blinds.

I’d definitely not have terracotta tiles splashback, it’ll be dark and a bastard to keep clean.

@Saz12
The hallway is the darker more res colour wood, then into the dining room/ kitchen- (which at the moment is grey vinyl) but because of the red brick fire place, the wooden floors, I wanted something which kept it bright but not look "too new" as having character in the kitchen is a big thing for us both.
I have tried to find online apps where I can try out different designs to see what they look like but not having much luck! Confused
I love neutral colours but I agree that too much pale and bright wouldn't look right.
It's a unique set up!
