Curtain dilemma

Hi all, I’m redecorating my bedroom and I’m looking for an alternative to a net curtain please. The room is at the front of the house so I need some privacy, however it is north facing so I find a net makes the room so dark! I need something that still lets plenty of light in. I was thinking wooden blinds but wasn’t sure if neighbours can see through these easily? And wonder if I’ll have the same issue with darkness? There may be no solution to this but if anyone has any suggestions that’d be great. Thanks in advance

Muslin sheer curtains look good. Or maybe those shutter blinds?

Sheers/voiles are a good way of giving privacy without blocking light. They're perfect to fit into the recess, so you can still have curtains hanging for night use. You can get loads of ready mades or get a curtain maker to make.

Or some sort of blind that fits into the window frame, like Intu blinds? We fit loads of these at work (soft furnishing trade).
