East (and a bit south) Colours for laundry/utility room

I have a laundry room with base and some wall units which has an east facing half glazed door at one end and a small south facing window at the other, but the room has a feeling of being on the shady side much of the year. It's a difficult room to decorate. The room has ivory shaker doors.

I painted the walls Beach Grass by Dulux. only a year ago, which I don't like, and find too zingy. Even though I chose it for those light and sunnier qualities.

I have used F and B Teresa's green and Wimborne white elsewhere, and some of it is visible.

I have the F and B colour fan and heaps of colours out, but truly I'm struggling for that right shade. Please help!

I think you need a warmer tone, beach grass is on the blue/green cooler side.
How about dulux citrus sorbet?

Dayroom yellow is probably closest on the f&b chart but I find their yellows quite muddy

Thank you for replying.

I'm not keen on pale yellows, to be honest.

I agree I need to get away from beach grass completely.

Ah ok, when you said it was too zingy I assumed you were looking for something softer.
What colours are you considering?

was wondering blue and green or neutrals but I'm open to suggestions. I wondered about Dix blue, but it seems too dark. I don't want more Teresa's green. Colours with a lot of grey in them look very dull in the shade, unfortunately.

How about dulux Javan Dawn 6?

And have you considered using silk finish rather than matt to help the light bounce?

That's an interesting thought, @sorryiasked . I'll check out the colour.

Just looked. Nice colour. Have you ever used it?
Do you think it's a cool-ish blue or a hint of teal?

Have a look at:

Pea Green by Little Greene
Botanical Green by Sanderson
Vert de Terre by F&

All quite different but all look good in “cool” light which it sounds like you have.

Thank you @minipie , I will have a look. They all look interesting. I'm aware of vert de terre.

Before I commit, can I ask-are there any colours other than green that people have used successfully in small east facing spaces?

I painted my utility room today! Well, just one wall. It has an east-facing outside door with a small window in it. Three walls are cream and the other....see picture! It makes me smile every time I look at it Smile
