Paint colour for north facing living room

Trying to decide whether to repaint our north facing living room or stick with the Magnolia left by the previous owners (which we don't actually mind in this particular room as it does at least brighten the space up even if it may not have been our first choice).

Can anyone recommend a paint colour? We're open to anything really...our sofa is a DFS one in 'mink and mocha', curtains are
cream, and we're planning to have cream coloured furniture throughout the rest of the room. TIA!

We have F&B Hay and White Tie in our north facing sitting room.
They create a light but warm feel.

Despite loads of blogs - you can have a colour from ANY Hue Family for a North facing room. The secret is finding the right combination of lightness (Value) + colour quantity (Chroma) to best fit the available light.

Colours with more Chroma than you may normally consider do well in dimly lit rooms. Even if considering white.

We’ve found that Farrow & Ball White Tie (actually a Crown copy) has really brightened up our north-facing bedroom. It was pale blue before and after painting in White Tie, we initially kept thinking that we’d left the light on!

We have Brassica Nd I think it’s Elephants Breath in ours. Painted by previous owner.

Thank you all - I'll check these out!

We have a dark lounge, West facing, and it looks amazing and cosy in denim drift. When it is sunny it's such a beautiful shade of blue so suits all light I think. We have it with blush pink, white furniture and a pale beige sofa Smile

@TheTestOfTime can you explain your Crown copy please? Do you give Crown a sample of what you want and they mix it? I'm looking for a good white at the moment so interested in a cheaper version of White Tie!

@cluecu ooh that's a GREAT colour, thanks for the tip!

Johnstone’s can mix paint to match Farrow and Ball and is meant to be better quality. We had the wall repainted and you can’t tell the difference.

Victory Colours have lovely pinks. Take a look at them.

@alloverthecarpetagain - I just go to the counter in Brewers and give them the name of the Farrow and Ball colour that I want. They offered me the option the first time when I flinched at the cost of the Farrow and Ball paint.
