Valspar F&B Match - Specifically Hague Blue?

Currently have Crowns’s Aftershow, a rich deep blue (although oddly enough it comes under their grey category) and have been very happy with it.

In the past have used Farrow and Ball Stiffkey Blue before, which was nice, but found it easily marks. The Crown one is the easyclean range, which is great as not only a really matt paint but is resistant to marks and doesn’t cost a pretty penny when comparing to the likes of F&B.

I’ve always fancied Hague Blue, so not a total shift colour wise but I don’t fancy the actual F&B paint as a) it’s expensive and b) it does mark easily. My local B&Q colour match so that’s Valspar paint. What’s their quality like & what’s the match like, is it near enough damn it or not worth it?

Very hopeful bump here!

F&B modern emulsion is more or less indestructible - the opposite of their estate emulsion. I even have it directly behind my Hob and it wipes beautifully. I stick to estate emulsion on the ceilings but have modern emulsion on all my walls. We are a mucky lot.

That said I got colour matched Valspar in F&B Arsenic for a MN test and was actually really pleased with it, both the colour match and the paint quality.

I can't comment on the match, but we've just painted our hall in V700 and even the decorator commented on the paint quality

not a fan of valspar stuff in general - and F&B is overpriced IMO.

I believe (email them to check) that you can get the Leyland/Johnstones trade paint mixed to F&B colours and that's very scubbable and tough.

I've always had good advice from decorating centre online - drop them an email and ask?

Valspar v700 is absolutely shite. Infact all valspar paint is shite. I managed to get a refund on mixed paint from b&q as the colour match was so poor and it was such a poor finish.

Get dulux to mix it in easycare.

If you like Crown paint and are near a Brewers, they mix it in Farrow & Ball colours. We have had the Crown Trade Clean Extreme Scrubabble Matt mixed in a few different ones - it’s good to paint with and as it says, is scrubbable.

We've just painted our bathroom in F&B modern emulsion and it does have a sheen to it unlike their estate emulsion. Lovely to paint with though and good coverage, we only needed 2.5L and we painted the roof as well.

We've colour matched with Johnstones before and been happy with it as well.

We have variously F&B Estate, F&B Modern, Little Greene and Valspar v700. Both the F&B Estate and v700 mark and chip similarly, the other two are tougher.

I would go for Johnstone’s acrylic durable matt. They have a good colour matching service and we have been very happy.

I have colour matched to thr valspar 800 in matt. And genuinely I can’t tell the difference.
