Do Valspar make up Dulux colours?

I’ve never used Valspar or the Homebase paint mixing service.

There’s a colour I love by Dulux (Lagoon Falls) but it only comes in Matt finish.
Can Valspar colour match it in silk/satin?

Yea absolutely. Just find the colour card in store.

Dulux decorator centre would probably mix it up in another finish, or anywhere with a Dulux machine. Then you'll have decent paint.

Thanks. I’ve read that Valspar can have a strange smell!

Just a word of warning, I’ve recently used lagoon falls, I got it mixed at the dulux decorator centre nearby and because I wanted washable paint (kids bedroom) it was over £100 for 5L. It is beautiful though, went on nicely and is exactly the colour I wanted for this room.

no valspar doesn't have a strange smell

that was years ago when they had to remove a chemical to comply with paint regs. they have since rectified it. the paint is very good if used correctly

you will need it colour matched though as deluxe obviously dont want to share the recipe they use for their colours. so if you have a dulux tester pot they can replicate it from that

Valspar is crap, I recently painted my ds2 and DDs bedrooms in it and both rooms look shit.
DS2 room is a very dark grey and it’s marked and chipped, it’s only been on the wall 6 months.
DDs room is a really pale pink and it took 4 coats to look even.
I’d pay the extra money and get dulux paint.

I've always used valspar and love it. Goes on like a dream. Decorator likes it too. (Always used the pro range though on decorators advice so I don't know if maybe you had a different one @Yubaba? ) still it shouldn't be crap after 6 months though, have you tried complaining?

Thanks all
