Reclining swivel chairs instead of sofa?

I find the sofa quite uncomfortable,it makes me slouch and I’d like to be a bit higher. Is this middle age setting in?!
We have 2 sofas so would keep one and maybe get a couple of lovely swivel chairs. I cannot picture them in our lounge though as we’ve always had sofas!

Has anyone else done this?

You can do lay-z-boy battles like Joey and Chandler!

@EekThreek a friend mentioned Joey and Chandler straight away 😂

😂 Sorry, it was the first thing my brain did!

Those chairs aren't very Chandler and Joey though so I think you're safe.

My parents have just got a chair exactly like that and it's very comfortable. But if you're worried about middle age setting in this might not be what you want to hear... 😬

Look at the Moonrise chair by Fama. I'm going to try one out on Sunday. Hopefully it's very comfortable and looks good too.

CimCardashian · 23/04/2021 23:09

Nice @Mosaic123 some lovely colours too.

Sadly it was a disappointing experience, trying a Moonrise chair that is. The arm rest cushions were so high as to be uncomfortable. There were other items that were far more comfortable though.

CimCardashian · 26/04/2021 00:21

That’s disappointing! Sounds like you found some good alternatives though.

Yes. Ego Italiano's Nora chair was really lovely and comfortable. The price was over £2k which was pretty steep.

Ever since my elderly parents got riser recline chairs I've hankered after one, so comfortable!

We got rid of our sofa a while ago, & got armchairs. They don't match & we don't care. DH has a big slouchy one, DD has a pretty one, & I have a very upright one (bad back & I like to sit up very straight). Mine & DH's were 2nd hand, DD's was a bargain in a sale. I'm sure if you had the budget you could get individual chairs to suit each person & have them match. Or at least coordinate.

Some interesting thoughts here.

I’m only 44 so it’s a bit early I know 🤣

Go for it, but visitors will find it strange. I got rid of my sofas and have had a few comments.

Two eames chairs/ottomans and a loveseat over here. Dh actually wanted 4 LaZboy recliners...

PinchingShoe · 29/04/2021 22:03

I’m still waiting for recommendations please! Want a slouchy swivel recliner
