Blocking leaked sunlight out of blackout curtains?

I recently bought some blackout curtains from John Lewis and I’m in love with them! However the sunlight leaks out from the top which I find so annoying! Is there something you can buy to block it? I’m currently using towels to stop the sunlight from leaking through which helps but it’s a temporary solution as I’d want something nicer.

I was looking at cornices (I’ve only seen them in hotels) and nowhere seems to sell them? Is there anything else?

Might be easier just to add a black out roller blind too. We’ve done that. It cuts out 9/10 of the light. We still added a blanket when we had babies waking at 4.30am, but after that first year it wasn’t necessary.

@Youdontknowwhatyoureonabout thanks! I am tempted to just buy blinds

@4PawsGood I think you’re right. Blinds sound easier. Think I’ll pop into JL one day when I’m free and have a nose. Thanks for the suggestion.

We’ve always just got them from Homebase. You just need a hacksaw to cut them down to the right size.
