Please help me choose chairs to match this sofa!

Hello all you lovely Mumsnetters!

I am decorating our home for the first time and I am fairly clueless about interior design and so am appealing to you about suggestions on how to style this sofa...

We are looking at getting the sofa.com Holly sofa, most likely in Prussian Blue velvet, three seater

I would like to get two accent armchairs to fit in with it.

The overall colour scheme we are going for is dark blue/navy, soft grey with accents of pale pink/blush and deep red/crimson. The walls will likely be soft grey (TBC).

I was thinking about just going for the Holly armchairs in an accent colour (e.g. blush pink or grey) but I worry that even with the colour change the same style will look a bit matchy matchy? I want to avoid 90s 3 piece suite vibes! But I'm not sure what other styles might match this sofa.

Any ideas?

P.s. as an aside, I've not actually tested out this sofa as shops are shut so if you have any experience with it, thoughts on the sofa are welcome as well!

I would go for high back armchairs. The ones from ikea are pretty good and not too expensive. Here's mine (excuse the wall paper behind it. I've been waiting g for the decorator to come since I hot the bloody chair) Obviously that won't go with your colour scheme, but they have others. Not sure what they have now though. Haven't been in months 😭
If you're going for a velvet couch, I would get 2 normal fabric sofas. I hate everything matching aswell.
A mix of cushions and throws in all the colours you are using and then just move them around to see which ones go best where.
If you are going for dark couches I would keep the walls light and neutral, and just fancy them up with a couple of shelves, mirror, pictures etc. I love the look of navy walls but don't have the guts to do it in my own house.
Are you buying furniture aswell, or do you ready have that?

Although, if you are going for blush pink chairs, I would try and get velvet. That cour jist looks nicer in velvet or valour fabric imo.

I think same style but different colour would work but going for something completely different that you love will work as well. You could avoid velvet (but agree pink velvet is lovely) and go for e.g. a more textured wool. You could get two different accent chairs, look at vintage for something different. TBH if inspiration hasn't hit you don't need to buy something yet, let it evolve.
