Grey deep pile carpet

Hello, we are in the process of buying a new home that has fairly new deep pile grey carpets in some areas, including the sitting room.
Our current sofas are a beige/oatmeal colour and I just cannot see how to tie these two colours together. Any suggestions? Cannot afford new sofas or carpets for a while. Throws might work but don't want to spend ages straigening them all the time.

I think it depends on what else you put in there! I had a quick search on Pinterest - depending on the exact shades it might work. What about a rig?
