Thermal curtains or blinds?

What's the best approach for large bay Victorian windows? The room is south facing but come winter, it's cold. Which are better, thermal curtains or blinds? Can't afford both unfortunately!

An idea of cost would be great too.

Thanks

What do you have up at the minute, do you have curtains?
I have these thermal/blackout in the bedroom and they work brilliantly, would they be an option?

Thank you. Nothing up as about to move in! The only reason I'm thinking twice about curtains is the faff with curtain poles on bay windows.

You can get thermal lined roman blinds @Kai1981

We have 2 bay windows. They had swish curved curtain track up when we moved in, I wouldn’t have a clue what to put up if they hadn’t come with the house! Good luck with the move.

Thanks @totatallyworthit

Yes @BasiliskStare, the thing I want to know is which is warmer, blinds or curtains and which tends to be cheaper.

Get interlinked Roman blinds
Trey look lovely and keep the house warm, and no fafff with curtain poles etc

Tangledtresses · 04/04/2021 18:39

Interlined!

BasiliskStare · 04/04/2021 18:56

@Kai1981 Ds bedroom has interlined roman blinds. The blinds were cheaper than curtains - so there is my advice Flowers

Kai1981 · 04/04/2021 19:09

Thank you. Interlined blinds sounds like a good option.

Having lived in a house without double glazing for many years I'd say made to measure interlined curtains are always warmer than blinds (even interlined roman blinds) but they will be much more expensive. But both will be noticeably warmer than nothing.

Does anyone here have the mesh type thermal blinds and if so are they any good at keeping heat in during winter as well as out in summer?
