Wall colours choices with this kitchen?

I'm really struggling to find complementary wall colours for our kitchen diner. The cabinets are a mushroomy/cashmere with a dark oak worktop and blackened brass handles.
I was thinking maybe olive green or f&b Oval room blue and off white but then I panic that it'll look awful and be a huge waste of time and money.
To the right is a dining area with oak table and doors out to the garden.
The grey blind is temporary and will be changed.
Also tiling the back wall under the cabinets and removing the chrome splashback. Probably in white metro style tiles but that won't be decided until the colours are.

Personally I'd go with white. Imo body rooms look best just painted white.

It is currently white - standard contractors pure brilliant white and it feels like a stark cold contrast against the warmth of everything else....the other end of the room here

I love the idea of Olive . If you're worried it would be too much on every wall do your tiles and then buy two testers , enouyto cover a big space and do one wall . I say go for it .

We have Powder room blue, F&B (now not available but similar to Oval Rm blue) with units a very similar colour to yous. It’s works very well and people comment on how lovely it is. I’ve had it for about 10 years and am just about to get it repainted (I’ve found a shop who can mix old F&B colours) as I can’t find another colour I like as much!

LizzieSiddal · 03/04/2021 09:06

Excuse typos- fat fingers!

Artus · 03/04/2021 09:08

Following with interest as have a very similar kitchen though the units are slightly paler. I am keeping the steel splashback, and thinking of painting the two end walls, I.e. behind the hob and units and at dining end, a sage or pale olive green

Thank-you. I might try the window wall in a colour as it'll be broken up by the doors and windows then also maybe the wall with the mirror.
I feel like I get ideas in my head but always nervous the reality will look awful, the fear over paint is real!

@Artus I've seen Oval room blue here on someone's Instagram and think it could be the one

I would just keep it white, I think it looks lovely as it is. Our bedroom is oval room blue and it is a beautiful colour but I'm not sure it would work with your units.

JaninaDuszejko · 03/04/2021 09:27

That's a lot of brown and beige, it's all a bit bland at the moment isn't it. I like the idea of green to balance it but think it would need to be a light olive, a dark green might make it feel too dark on an overcast October morning, although maybe a dark green is what needed to make it feel interesting and designed. I really hate 'feature walls', and think doing the already busy window wall would be a mistake. If you want a single painted wall then the ceiling would be the best option or the mirror wall (I'd make it into a gallery wall).

Use testers before you commit, the instagram images vary quite a lot and I think the colour card isn't entirely accurate either.

QforCucumber · 03/04/2021 09:36

@JaninaDuszejko that's the perfect word for it - bland. I need 'something' going on somewhere but I can not figure out what

Get a sample pot of the colours you like and put them on the walls. It’s the only way you will “know”.

dustydaffs · 03/04/2021 09:45

Yellow

Artus · 03/04/2021 09:54

I like the oval room blue

Piglet208 · 03/04/2021 10:01

The oval blue looks to be a lovely colour. Do the window wall. Leave the others white. Replace the mirror with some wall art featuring blues and green to inject more colour.

Tangledtresses · 03/04/2021 10:05

We've got stifkey blue and ammonite on different walls
Our cabinets and floor are similar colours to yours and it looks great

Obviouslynotallthere · 03/04/2021 15:09

I have cashmere kitchen. 2 walls are deluxe sea urchin, like a dark teal and have utility in same unit colour but with deluxe English mist, a dark green. With white tiles dark grout I think it looks great. Also some art on the white walls with similar tones. Our white wall are actually timeless, also dulux

Blimey, how do you get paint to dry so quickly ?Shock
supadupapupascupa · 03/04/2021 23:37

I'd go with an off white pink

supadupapupascupa · 03/04/2021 23:38

Oh I see you've done it! Haha

averythinline · 03/04/2021 23:39

Oval room blue is nice but think green tones would suit your cupboards...how about cooking apple..bit fresher than olive and less solid.....its a lovely colour very livable with
