Mattress recommendations please?

DH and I are desperately in need of a new mattress. Can’t get anywhere to test one at the moment so considering just ordering one to try. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Have looked at Eve/Emma/Simba. The reviews look almost too good to be true 😅 can anyone give me an opinion on any of them?

We’re both a little overweight and like something with plenty of support 😊

We’ve just got the Nectar and I’m very happy with it! Also a tad overweight with big hips. It’s our first memory foam and it did take a few nights to get used to but now I’m like ‘ooooh yes’ when I lie down 😊. Also comes vacuum packed so super easy to get up stairs and then takes a few hours to get back to size and you wonder how the heck it ever fit in the box it came in!

@SwatchIt Thank you!!! I had seen the Nectar too but had ignored it as I hadn’t heard much about it to be honest so I was unsure! I’ll have a better look at it now though 😊 Memory clad definitely takes a while to get used to! Ends up being so comfy though!!!

@MM321 definitely look into it, I’m sure it scored better than the Emma etc. We had a family member have it and rave about it, we needed a new mattress so took the risk but well worth it. I did the bundle deal, haven’t ever loved memory foam pillows but my daughter does so she has one and then guests can have one if they prefer them.

Every few weeks they do a £125 any mattress so I’d wait for that or go for the bundle deal 😊

@SwatchIt They’re doing £669 for a king size mattress, with free pillows, sheets, duvet and mattress protector at the moment which seems good!

That’s what we did but superking! Think we paid about £770 and used Quidco and got cash back 😊

I'd buy a mattress with 'proper' pocket springs and a geltex/memory foam/wool top layer personally.

We recently bought an Otty hybrid mattress. Memory foam and spring. Its utterly fabulous 😃. Can’t recommend highly enough. They also sell reconditioned ones that have been returned after the trial period. I bought one for my son’s student rental and its great.

Sort of agree with this - but part of the benefit of a traditional pocket sprung mattress is that you can turn it, so it lasts longer with more support than other mattress types. You could then buy whatever style topper suits your comfort - memory foam, latex, or pillow top etc (rather than having it as part of the mattress which means the mattress is one sided).
