Cushions!!! With pics

What colour cushions should I get to go with the beautiful Indian silk rug I've inherited?

Floors are a natural oak, walls are just off white, it's a sunny room. Loads of colours in this rug but I don't want to get too matchy matchy. The red is very vibrant but I don't think red cushions will go on cream sofas.

I LOVE a cushion but none of my existing work with this (we had a more modern rug before so my cushions are the same vibe, but this is very classic). I guess the look I'm going for is a bit eclectic?

If pick out one of the lesser colours. Personally I'd pick the blue out but you could go for a brownish. A mustard might compliment it too?

I'd go for something in the bluey/grey colour in the rug, perhaps even get some beautiful sari material in a similar colour.

Different lights show the vibrancy of the red

Red cushions...perhaps kilim cushions

Red cushions on cream sofa will look dated, but picking out the darker greens etc will work

Don’t have all the same cushions, having all different looks so much better if they are themes of a colour than all the same etc

The red is very strong and I'd forget it for cushions. I'd go for neutral and teal green, I can see that teal is in the details of the rug.

I think neutral too, possibly with the darker grey/green, but def not red!!

I love Oka cushion cover. They are more expensive that some, but the quality is very good.

Oooh there are some fab OKA ones there, thanks. I might get a few special ones there and wait for TK Max to open up for a bunch of neutrals.

A pale blue velvet with teal piping would look nice but the blue needs to be warm of blue not cool. That or a soft teal colour but I think solid teal will be too dark possibly
I think grey and teal are probably too dark and don’t contrast enough with the red.

I’m not seeing any blue in the pictures so maybe it’s my screen. I’d say olive green and taupe with a little bit of marroon, such as these 3 mixed together.
