I need opinions - i have cream shaker style cupboards and have always disliked them due to how easily and quickly dust and general kids stickiness shows up on them. The kitchen was here when we moved in 10 years ago. I am now looking at new kitchens and I like the dark units but I think they will date quickly. I don’t like the glossy units. What is a timeless look? It’s bloody cream isnt it? 😬

Do you need a whole new kitchen or is it just the doors you hate? Lots of companies do replacement kitchen doors, if you choose a colour you really love (any colour! Go with your heart) and have it in a painted finish (ie MDF or wood, depending on budget, not laminate) then you can easily repaint in x years if you change your mind. Don't settle for cream if you hate it, it's your kitchen.

If you are going for a whole new kitchen for reasons other than disliking your doors, same advice applies, get a painted/able finish that can be changed if you want to.

Thanks Zinnia this is what i had come up with - we need new as we are rearranging it all but I would/will happily paint in a few years if needs be.

I'd agree, wish I'd chosen a solid wooden one so that I could repaint as I get bored so often!

We went with dark Matt units and they show every bloody mark too. Can't win! Wood I think would have been a safer choice!

I have Matt white flat units with an exciting worktop. They seem easy to look after so far.
