De Nimes walls, what colour sofa?

We're in the middle of painting our living room in De Nimes. It's a very small space, using a dark colour to embrace that and make it snug like.

Does anyone else have this wall colour or other dark grey/blue in their living room? If so what colour sofa do you have? Our sofa is already a similar colour and I don't think it's going to work. It's easy to recover but I don't know what to go with.

The floor will almost be completely covered with this rug.

I've got very small children so I can't go too light.

Some kind of pale terracotta like you have in the rug.

With a different rug you could go for a darker sofa

Hi OP, I have Oval Room Blue in my lounge, Pigeon in my kitchen and De Nimes in my hallway. They are all very similar colours. I have a large victorian end terraced. Our sofas in the lounge are mismatched with whiskey brown leather chairs, and a cream sofa (from our old house). A brown Chesterfield set would look fantastic, such as Asquith by Barker and Stonehouse. Or, an antique style red or mustard velvet sofa and wingback chairs.

Looking at your rug, which has a very dominant pattern, I'd go for dark red velvet or a dark brown chesterfield.

Thanks all. Yes, I think a brown Chesterfield would go brilliantly. I'm not sure the space could take the size though. I'll explore brown/earthy tones though.

Try the Asquith sofa as mentioned above. Comes in a small two-seater and is beautiful quality.

@beggingforsleep where is your rug from?

beggingforsleep · 29/03/2021 08:12

@hellololabells2019 we got it abroad.

I'm worried it's not going to fit!

What was the colour conclusion here - have same issue!

Well I'm yet to recover the existing sofa so it just blends really but I bought an additional sofa in a taupe colour and it works well

I'd go for the obvious - a deep dusty pink - linen or velvet - probably linen.
