Small Living Space - Furnishing Ideas/Advice?

Hey, I’m hoping someone might be able to offer some advice on how to best utilise the space in this living room, the room seems small once you start looking at different furnishings and after hours of wrecking my brain I just can’t get my head around how to furnish the space. I’ve looked at different couches/sofas online but everything seems HUGE and wont even fit in such a small space, is anyone able to help me out?

I have a similar snug type space and bought a second hand sofa. Parker knoll and multi York ones are good, and you can recover if necessary. Or use armchairs, with no sofa? Keep furniture low in height?

I might just have to go with less seating and smaller furnishings, I guess it just means I won’t have any additional seats to entertain but that’s the issue with smaller homes, there must have been a better means to layout the property to maximise the space... oh well.

Can you rehang the door so it opens out of the room?

How many people would be using the room regularly?

Go for sofas and armchairs and coffee tables that are off the floor (if that makes sense e.g. on legs)

Do things like hang your TV on the wall so you can minimise the floor space taken up by large tv units etc.

Or embrace it and go full cozy, over filled etc.

Depends how you’d use the room but I’d go for an L shape sofa that fills the right wall (long end) and the top wall up to the door, mount the TV on the right wall and have very little else. If you need storage then long cupboards / shelves under the TV. Maybe a nice rug too?

Buy some padded folding chairs for extra guests or a bedroom /study chair that will match any dining chairs you have.

Keep folding chairs inside an ottoman bed.

You’d fit a fairly big corner sofa in (right hand side of your pic, with corner of sofa in top right corner). Add a footstool that can double as coffee table & extra seat.
Or a large sofa at least, again with footstool as coffee table.
Then armchair in top left corner, potentially also with foot stool.
