Paint recommendations please! Have a relatively small hallway with not.much natural light. Have cookie dough on at the momet but want a fresh and brighter but classy paint look. Beige but not too yellow. F&B is out of my price range so any recommendations gratefully recieved! Thinking natural hessian but not sure if too yellow. Have oak floor and cream/white hall furniture. Bonus points for photos! Thank you x

I'd just pick a farrow and ball and have it paint matched.

We’ve just decorated our spare room with the valspar paint match of farrow and ball school house white. Check it out it’s so calming I love it.

Steph1902 · 26/03/2021 13:20

Il have a look, thanks. What's the valspar paint like.. have heard differing things x

Absolutely fine, think there had been problems with a smell previously but we had nothing and used it to paint wardrobes and walls. Excuse the mid decorating mess

We have natural hessian throughout the house, so it gets a variety of light. It can look pale grey or very mildly with a hint if sage, but not at all yellow.

Steph1902 · 26/03/2021 15:35

Hi, yes this is one of my options... have you got any photos as my hall can be a bit dark Confused

We had natural hessian in our old house in the bedroom, it was nice, I wouldn't say yellow but very much on the brown spectrum. I've just painted our new bedroom with Egyptian cotton which I love, it's a greyer beige, looks different in daylight vs electric light. Really pleased with it!

dudsville · 28/03/2021 09:56

Oops, @Clarabellawilliamson just made me realise I was confused. What I meant to describe was egyptian cotton! We also had natural hessian in a previous house - like you say, it's like a sort of earthy oaty colour.

I've got F&B Shadow White (colour matched at Johnstones) in my dark hall.

Just gave it a freshen up actually- it's a lovely neutral beigey white!

See pic

Not my hall (I wish!) - I'd post mine but it would be outing!

Dulux Egyptian Cotton, Natural Calico or Rock Salt. Polished pebble for a grey tone.

We used Egyptian cotton in bedroom. I love it. It's been 10 years and I still love it.

Teesdale2622 · 05/02/2022 13:00

This week just had our dark hallway painted in Egyptian cotton and I love it. Smile

OpheliaTrousersnake · 05/02/2022 13:02

Agree with those who suggest colour matching F&B. It's not exactly the same, but it's still pretty convincing.

ScandiNoir · 08/02/2022 00:11

Colour match F and B's Slipper Satin. It's warm, pale and not at all yellow, I have it in four rooms!

Dulux Jasmine White
