Built in bedroom v's stand alone furniture?

DD has a small bedroom. 6ft by 9/10 ft and as she's growing her needs are changing etc. I'm considering getting a joiner in to build furniture in her room but I'm wondering if anyone has done this and regretted it?

The benefits of moveable furniture is of course the flexibility but in such a small room I can't decide what to do for the best?

I grew up having a bedroom about the same size , perhaps a bit longer but not much, when i got to about 7 my dad built me a really high bed with a desk and wardrobe under it it gave me a huge amount of storage under the desk and the bottom of the wardrobe , the only issue was he built it to tall , I could not sit up in bed Confused and it was a bugger to make while stood on a ladder but I loved it !
