Is this mirror Art Deco-y?

I won't tell you if I am looking for deco or not, so as not to sway your opinion!...

I don't think it is. I can see how it could be vaguely
described as art deco but if you hadn't put that in your title I would never have made the association. If that makes sense!

I would say no, this is more contemporary.

I just bought a new mirror so have been browsing for them recently and have seen this one before. is it the one from Furniture Village where they describe it as being Art Deco?

I wouldn't call that design Art Deco principally because of the offset sections.

I'd say no however on googling Art Deco mirrors it's the third suggestion!
When I think of Art Deco I think of the fan shape or more angular shapes. That picture just seems a bit too contemporary.

@ChequerBoard ah I didn't see it on furniture village originally, but I've just looked and they do say it is influenced by art deco. Hmmm

Art Deco would require more symmetry.

If it was in portrait rather than landscape and all the panels were the same width then maybe, but otherwise no.

I think it could look quite good with other Art Deco pieces in an ironic, nod to contemporary, sort of way.

But on its own, I definitely wouldn’t think Art Deco.

But I can see how a designer could say that it was inspired by art deco in that it is made from thin strips of mirror like the decorative edges on some art deco mirrors. It's more art deco interpreted by Picasso though.
