Wall colour ideas for grey kitchen

We are having a new kitchen installed in a few weeks and we've chosen a shaker style kitchen in dove grey with white worktops with a sparkle in and white wall tiles. So I now need help with the wall colour? White would be the ideal choice but with a toddler, dog and a husband who's a mechanic it's just not an ideal choice so what colours would you choose? I want to keep the room as light as possible

Look at all the Farrow and Ball 'whites'. All light colours but more interesting and sympathetic than plain white.

And if you don't like their paint you can easily colour match.

I think light colours would mark/show dirt the same as white paint. So if white is your preferred colour, go for it and look for paints that you can wipe down or are scrubbable.
