Drawer locks (childproofing!) problem - help please!

Our kitchen is fairly standard (so I thought!) but we just can’t find drawer locks which work with our drawers/kitchen worktops - I think the overhang is the problem?! Thought magnetic ones might work but they won’t fit... anyone else had this problem? Any advice, please?

Do you actually need them or is it just something you think you need to do? I bought some when I had DC1 but it was only when I had DC3 who had a penchant for emptying the cupboard under the sink as an annoying pastime that I actually fitted them. The other 2 had either shown no interest or understood when I said no don't do that!

We have the ones that you stick to the cupboard / drawer, would those work? Ds has never actually tried to get in those cupboards, but they're pretty hardy if he did try. I would recommend having a cupboard (pots/pans etc) that dc is allowed to go in so the other locked ones are less tempting.

Never needed them for 2 DC. I just taught them not to. As PP said, do you definitely need them?
