Outdoor rug

I’m thinking putting an outdoor rug on my patio. Not sure if it’s a good idea though. Has anyone done this?

I've had one for 3 years and it's still going strong. The colours haven't faded and I only need to rinse it down quickly with a hose every 3-6 weeks (depending on the weather). My only tip is to avoid having it under a tree or where leaves might fall. They are a pain to get off if you don't clean it up quickly enough.
