paint (again) website that compares colours

Hi there, I used to use this website as wonderful tool to suggest alternatives to F&B and LG paint, and also to look at the colour breakdowns, but it seems to have gone down.
Do you know of a similar? Or @Collette can you send a link to your magic book?
I'm after a duplicate for F&B green smoke - a Little Greene if possible as my local paint shop mixes them on the premises.
Thanks in advance! I want a warm green grey for an East facing bedroom. THanks!

Hi - nothing very close at all!

Nearest Greens in LG are either 10 points darker or 10 points lighter.

I found a Benjamin Moore & a couple of Tikkurila colours.

I use EasyRGB predominantly but hope e-paint is just down for maintenance!

I don’t know that colour well but the LG green palette is quite different to F&B. We have LG Tracery II in our dining room which I really really like. I think it’s close to F&B Mizzle

Green Smoke looks lovely in this room by Rehabitat in a Salem Townhouse. I live it with the pinky & green-yellow chairs.

Yes. I ‘live’ it. 👀

I love it here, there’s something quite mouthwatering about it!

It really is lovely. 🌈
Just be aware though, that in certain light settings it can flash a bit airforce blue at times. But I like that it shifts.

RoSEbuds6 · 15/02/2021 22:09

Do you think it would be good in an East facing bedroom?

I honestly think you need to test (board x 2 coats) so you can move it around and view against different walls.

If it were to shift, it would most likely cast more blue on the window wall,
(assuming there is only one wall with windows) as this would usually be the one with the lowest light levels.

It certainly doesn’t happen in every room and even when it does, it may not appear like that all the time, as it responds to differing light levels.

For example on a kitchen island, I have seen it appear just as you might imagine on the end facing the french doors and garden, but at the very same time look grey-blue at the far end, deeper into the room.

As I mentioned I really like how it can flex, but you just don’t want it to be a surprise. But now at least you know what to check for.

Good Luck! 🌈

My e-paint site is working again @colette100 which is a relief, although I have never heard of many of the brands they recommend. I have had a change of heart and gone for F&B Dix Blue, just because it's not quite so dark, and it has the mix of blue/green that gives me the shivers. Hopefully it won't disappoint.
Thanks again for all of your help, I feel that Mumsnet should pay you a retainer for all the work you do on here.

I’m not sure I’d want it in my kitchen, but swoony for my bedroom. Is is 🤞🏻 Restful with an edge, had depth and not too sweet. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I had Borrowed Light earmarked, but think it’s a bit boring now.
Thanks again 😊

My tester pot has arrived and it's really dark! I love it, but it looks like a pastel shade in the photos we found. It's gorgeous though and really resonates with me.
I now need to find some curtains and possibly some new bedding. I''m thinking of a pale gold colour for gentle contrast. I'm not really a pink person.

You need Teresa's green.

ThatsMe123 · 26/02/2021 00:12

Bit late but I quite like this site.
Scroll all the way down and it gives recommendations of similar paint. Maybe next time?

RoSEbuds6 · 26/02/2021 07:25

Thank you!

Encycolorpaedia looks fun and is simple to use, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything. They pull colour data for their suggestions from all over the place and so their results are erratic.

If you want a colour matching service then I would recommend easyrgb first or e-paint.
