Has anyone laid new vinyl over old? Did it stick down well, or did it move around?

I think vinyl sticks quite well to anything if fitted correctly. I've been researching stick on vinyl tiles as a quick fix (fitting to ceramic tiles) and reviews are good.

MirandaMarple Thanks, I'm off to peel back the current stuff to see how it looks.

It can be done, but it's not ideal, and if your current vinyl lifts then you should just lift it. Then use the old vinyl as a template to cut the new.

Is it a sheet?
It’s not ideal to put it over the top, if it’s tiles the lines will show through and it might move about
I would take up the old vinyl if possible

Unfortunately, having peeled back some vinyl, underneath is extremely sticky, so much so that to pull it all up and use it as a template, which I had thought of, would leave the floor unwalkable.

Oh!, but if I cut it in sections, it's an 'L' shaped bathroom, I could place that on the new stuff to start the template, then do the second part. Sort of. Nothing is ever simple in my house, it's wearing.
