Super King sized bed

kittykat7210 · 10/02/2021 13:27

Where can I buy super king sized beds from, I’ve checked all the usual places, John Lewis, next etc. But I can’t find one I like! I don’t want a divan bed, I’d like a wooden framed bed that’s good and strong... Grin and won’t squeak!

Any help is greatly appreciated! I’d like to keep the bed frame under £800 if I can manage it!

Try Feather & Black. The Marblehead bed is £895 in Super King size, Padstow is £799 but I think they have % off if you sign up for email. Plus they have an outlet site too.

Have had ours from there about 15 years, superb quality.

Code Spendsave gives 15% off £500 or more, 20% off £1000 or more

@Defiantly41 great thank you? I’ll check it out!

We got ours from Ikea (admittedly not recently) - the frame is over a decade old, still absolutely fine, and has survived a house move. It was definitely less than £800!

Ours is similar to this: www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hemnes-bed-frame-white-stain-luroey-s79002275/

We got ours from the Cotswold Company and are really happy with it!

We bought ours from And So To Bed, really pleased with it, better than any top end hotel bed!

Radglags · 10/02/2021 16:37

We have this one:

Really good quality and no squeaking. Incredibly heavy which is probably a good thing but dread ever having to disassemble and move it.

Feather and black here too
Love my bed so much

Can’t believe John Lewis don’t have a decent selection though - that’s rubbish !

SchoonerP · 12/02/2021 11:02

Loaf or feather and black. The bed slats in the feather and black bed are very cheap though.

Neverwrestlewithapig · 12/02/2021 11:04

Do you have a furniture outlet by you? We found ours in one of these. You may hit lucky!

Yeh that have a large selection of divan beds or brightly coloured/grey sleigh beds but that’s really it! I want one without a bottom that’s not divan because my husband is tall and his feet currently rest on the foot of our bed haha

We got ours from Danetti, as had a tight budget. It arrived very quickly, was pretty easy to build and seems well made. Ours is the Paolo, which is sold out, but lots of others here:

We got a beautiful sleigh style bed from carpet right, great quality and gorgeous... think it was circa £600

Warren Evans.

I’ve got the Wilson from next in navy and adore it! Solid - not creaky - looks lovely!

I love one of the beds on there, but it’s 120kg just for the bed, then the mattress is 60kg then I’m 50kg and my husband is 78kg so the floor will have to hold 308kg! That’s seems like an awful lot!

We are on the 3rd floor of a new build house so it worries me that we’ll come crashing through the ceiling, and my daughter sleeps directly under us!

ikea here too.
what makes a bed expensive is the matress tbh.
we have 2single matresses in the frame, dh prefers rock hard whilst I like it a bit softer.

redcandlelight · 19/02/2021 21:47

don't worry about the weight unless your bed is made of marble.
houses are built to take the weight of an ordinary piece of furniture!

fruitbrewhaha · 19/02/2021 21:49

Your floor will take that weight.

We have a bed from Loaf. It is very heavy. Has not fallen through the floor.

ellenpartridge · 19/02/2021 21:51

We have IKEA Hemnes in super king

addicted2spaniels · 19/02/2021 21:51

Get a local upholsterer to make you one, you may be surprised at the cost and that way you can choose the fabric.

We've got a beech frame to the bed, covered sides and a massive velvet headboard. And it's a joy knowing no one else has got one the same. We just bought the mattress separately from a company online.

This is ours and was £500 with a discount code. We had first ordered an eBay new one which broke on delivery which suggested the quality wasn’t up to much! This has done us well and looks better in real life I think.

RuggeryBuggery · 19/02/2021 21:53

We got ours from Warren Evans about 10yrs ago. I fear they are no longer around but you might get a good second hand one. Very happy with it
