Electric fire

Do electric fires make a room cosy?
We have a perfectly good radiator in our living room, but it doesn't feel cosy. No gas nearby and woodburner too expensive, so I was thinking of getting an electric fire with fake flames.

Any recommendations?

The eco fuel ones are good - my friend had one. You put some kind of bio-ethanol in it (I think) and it looks like real flames. Also the dimplex opti-myst works on a similar basis - I’ve been looking at them myself!
