Colour ideas for kitchen walls

We had a new kitchen fitted a year ago and we still haven't decided on a colour for the walls! I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some advice.

The units/ doors are 'antique white' (a light cream colour really... wish we had just gone for proper white!) and the worktops and backboards are 'American pecan'. The floor is very similar to the worktops and backboards. (I've hopefully managed to attach pictures!)

I did paint one wall in dulux emerald glade. I adore the colour but it just doesn't work somehow. I thought I could get away with a bold colour because it's a good sized room with lots of natural light but something about it just isn't right.

Any ideas please? Would love to see examples!

A very pale green. Have a look at F and B Mizzle.

Teal would go well with those colours if you wanted a pop of colour on wall tiles.

Sage green?

I have a light cream kitchen and didn’t really like the colour at all until I found the right wall colour to go with it, so there is hope! I think whatever colour you go for, don’t go for anything too light. If you have a proper colour on the wall, your kitchen doors will look so much cleaner and brighter than if you go for something that’s basically white with a hint of colour.

If you’re thinking of green, a more muted sage green will go much better with your kitchen than the emerald green you’ve used. More muted greens are a tricky thing to get right though, as depending on the light in your room some can look fantastic, while others may look a little dirty. Probably best to get some testers, but something like Dulux Tranquil Dawn could work, although it may be a little too light.

I got a bit tired of testing greens in the end, so bought a big tin of Farrow & Ball Pink Ground. That colour turned out to work really well with my light cream units, but I appreciate pink isn’t for everyone!

Actually I came back to suggest a pale pink, that would definitely work

Thank you all!

I'll definitely get some testers of a pale green, something like sage could work. I'd not considered pale greens because that's what we had for 11 years with the old kitchen... but if it works it works! Pink is an interesting idea...

I keep thinking I'd like a very pale blue? We have a tester on the wall but it's not as light as I'd like.

Ah now I might be able to help with pale blue. Our units are painted in a copy of f and b skimming stone so might not be dissimilar to your cupboards and we've got a pale blue on the walls - the two shades work together well. The paint I chose is Dulux Heritage Clear Skies. I'll try to post a pic shortly.

@Bluesheep8 a picture would be great, thank you!

The light's not brilliant but this should give an idea.

My kitchen is copper blush with white cupboard, copper handles and copper accessories. I’m looking to more away from so much copper though I think the trend has died a bit. I’ll be keeping the copper handles but replacing all my appliances for white instead.

Thanks blue sheep. Lovely colour, goes well with the cupboard doors.

We have just one wall in lions mane from wickes, I love it!

We have cream units and wood top and have had the walls painted only this week in f&b borrowed light. Looks lovely.
