What colours go with pale beech furniture?

That's it really - can't afford to replace the fitted furniture in our bedroom which is a very pale beech - bit anaemic really. I would have loved to go for grey or duck egg walls but I don't think it will go. Feeling quite despondent about the whole thing.

Definitely beech and not birch? Beech has orangey tones so blues would be complementary. Greens should also work as would some lilac/purple tones.

I would go Scandinavian tones so think soft blues/greens would go well, fresh and clean.
