Missing my Christmas wreath but would like something more permanent.

But needs to be weatherproof, door is in full sun for a large part of the day and exposed to wind and rain!

Any ideas please?

Large door knocker in a nice metal finish to match your other hardware?

DinosaurDiana · 25/01/2021 11:49

A house near me has a wicker heart wreath with a red/white bow on it.
I’m going to be looking for an artificial spring flower wreath for the spring.
Home Sense often has these sorts of things.

Homesense is a good idea. Thanks.

I drive DH mad because he hates anything on the door and I love it...

I have seasonal wreaths. I have one with easter eggs that goes up a month before, thats then swapped for a lavender one after Easter. In summer I have a sunflower wreath and then autumn I have a beautiful autumn leaves wreath with little pumpkins on it, thats then replaced with my Christmas wreath.
It's this time of year I struggle for something. I've currently got the lavender one up, which isn't seasonal and bothers me so I'm watching with interest.

Bit too short those events and I CBA to go get a wreath out the loft for a week 😂

There are some stunning tulip wreaths I've just seen so wondering if one of those might be the solution?

Aren't they the new pampas grass?
Wink

I don’t go in for swinging, so I don’t know.

I love those but fear it would scratch the door!

@Fuss I love the idea of seasonal wreaths, do you make them yourself or buy them? That sunflower one is loveeeely

I mostly buy them, though I did make my Christmas one as I wanted subtle Mickey and I couldn't buy what I'd got in my head if that makes sense.

I keep looking at Tulip ones, but cant justify £25. Might price up a ring and a bunch of fake tulips and see what I can do.

Are you me!!! I'm the exact same. My family roll their eyes at my efforts but I ignore them. They're all either WFM or home schooling. I'm the only one going out to work each day and it lifts my spirit no end to arrive home to a decorated door. I must look up Pinterest again for some tulip ideas.

There's a pub near us with a lifesize bull over the doorway. It's decorated differently each month. It'll have pink hearts on it next month, shamrock in March and so on. Great to see it change every few weeks yet we never see it being done. One of life's mysterys.

Fuss · 25/01/2021 20:34

@GetupSeanItsDoleDay it just brightens things up doesn't it? It's a very dull brown PVC door that just needs colour and like you say, lifts the spirits a bit when you come home.

I was thinking the same thing about my door. It just looks so bare and unfriendly without something alive on it!

I like having wreaths too
I follow someone that has big pampas ones look cool but not sure if she has them outside or inside.
