Blinds/curtains problem

Our lounge desperately needs blinds or curtains but I’m finding it an absolute nightmare! We have a large bay window which would look amazing with shutters but I’ve ruled them out due to the way they would open and cost so they’re a NO. Wooden blinds there would drive me mad with all the strings so I’ve settled on curtains for there. I’ve found some ready made curtains I love which would fit perfectly after 6 months of searching.

But there’s also a small window in the lounge around the corner (weird shape). The curtain fabric is not available for made to measure blinds. I’ve found another fabric I like for made to measure blinds but it doesn’t come in curtains! I could put a single curtain here but the window goes right up to the wall so may block a lot of light?

There’s also some french doors which I’m thinking of just getting perfect fit blinds for just for when the sun is blinding.

So what would you suggest? I see my options as:

  1. Get the nice curtains for bay, perfect fit for french doors, singular matching curtain for small window.
  2. Get the nice curtains for bay, buy another pair and find someone to make a blind for small window if possible.
  3. Keep looking.
  4. Other suggestion?
I’m desperately fed up, trying to keep cost down and made to measure curtains are coming up at £800 for the huge bay alone.

Is it possible to buy the big curtains, and find a plain roman blind in same colour way? So if curtains are purple, orange, and pink (I hope not!) then find a plain blind in the same shade of purple (or orange, or pink). If the blind window is in a different big of the room, with different lighting, it probably wouldn’t need to be a 100% exact match.

I would go for the curtains and get plain blinds. What is the fabric for the curtains as I might know if you can buy it.

Buy a small size of ready made curtain & have a Roman blind made.
