Roman blind over vertical?!

My husband has suggested getting vertical blinds (neutral) and then Roman blinds on the outside instead of curtains with more colour pattern. I can't visualise this and can't see any pictures online of vertical blinds with Roman over! He says he has seen them before but I'm apprehensive...anyone done this or seen this?!

I don’t think that would sit nicely. The vertical of the blinds, so the lines going one way, would look odd with a blind that then has a horizontal line (the bottom of the blind) going across it.

I don’t know where he’s seen this - are you sure he’s not making it up because it’s really not a ‘thing’ to have vertical blinds and Roman blinds and I think it’d look ridiculous. Confused

Ask him to find a picture online.

Vertical blinds always look odd in a home. They belong in dentist waiting rooms and offices.

Go straight to Romans.

Vertical blinds are for offices and offices only

We just moved house and there are vertical blinds in EVERY room. They are hideous, and I can't get them ripped out fast enough! Confused
I'm with the others, vertical blinds are for offices and I think they would look very odd with roman blinds as well.

Does your husband mean Venetian blind with Roman blind over the top. This is we have got on some of our windows. We have the Venetian blind to help with privacy and decorate it with the Roman blind. The lines are running the same way so it seems to work. There are some images of this on the internet.
