We have had both and unfortunately have found that both are incredibly creaky and noisy.

We bought a metal frame bed from Bensons for Beds several years ago and after a couple years it became very squeaky. We ended up buying some rubber tape and padding out every joint which helped a bit but it's still quite noisy even just moving moving slightly.

We then inherited a solid wooden framed bed and have been using that now instead. It's also very noisy and the wood creaks even just turning over. My husband has had to reinforce some of the joints with extra screws and padding and it's helped a bit.

Not much help. Maybe other people have had a better experience.

I have wooden and I wish I had bought a divan.
Hate the bloody thing. It is too heavy to move out to hoover, dust gets between the slats and trapped in the grooves of the headboard and It is uncomfortable to lean against if I want to sit up and read.
Why oh why didn’t I buy a lovely storage divan with a nice thick padded headboard?

We have a wooden bed and it doesn't squeak even with vigorous movement Blush . I think DH put rubber rings between each of the joins.

Wood is better from a feng shui point of view
