Black Bathroom Taps etc

Any positive experiences of black bathroom accessories? Taps, shower head, radiator etc? Am I forever going to be cleaning off limescale, toothpaste and soap scum? Love the look of a white suite, black accessories, white tiles, grey grouting etc but wonder if it's more trouble than it's worth with a family of 4??!

I think it will be hard work, they always look a bit scummy in hotels.

But I don’t like em.

I’d worry that they would date quickly. I always try and keep things a bit more timeless when getting the expensive stuff or difficult to replace stuff.

Black taps can look great though.

Yeah, they’re never going to look clean. I have a black soap dish and that’s bad enough.

What about other black accessories? I have black storage - towel shelves, drawers and box thing for cleaning products - in a white bathroom (silver taps, etc).

They look cheap. I had a relative so pleased with her black sink and taps but all I could see was plastic.

They will date sooooo quickly! So many identikit insta homes!!! That faux panelling everyone is found as well is another culprit.

You will be forever cleaning them and they will date very quickly! You could add plack accessories as pp have suggested, I have a small succlet in a little black block pot i my bathroom.

I love the look of them, I was touching them all in Homebase the other day Grin
I don’t have them in my house tho, I would have a black kitchen sink but that’s not likely to happen.

I do have a lot of black, I have black walls so love a dark home.
In the bathroom though I’ve started with black accessories, I’ve painted the radiator black and my chrome shower caddy/ towel rail is going to be painted black too. Maybe do something like that and see how you go, it’s not as big a commitment as changing the sink/ taps etc

On a practical note - because your aesthetic choice is yours - I think they will be much harder to clean and keep looking clean than e.g. chrome. I would go for the radiator but not taps or shower head. But - not my bathroom - so I am sure it will be lovely whatever you do Flowers

I think they look amazing and suspect in 10 years time it'll be chrome that looks hopelessly dated. Brass is very popular at the moment as long as you use modern shapes so chrome is on its way out.

Unless you have absolutely no limescale, they surely are going to look scummy?
I hae built in water softener but still get bits of limescale.
They are just a fad
